Account region-locking after the 2025 merge
The May 2025 Riot Account merge unified Valorant, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics and Wild Rift into a single Riot Account. Region is now auto-determined by:
- First-chosen game server
- 90-day payment history
- 90-day login IPs
After 3+ payments from a specific country, Riot locks region changes for the next 12 months. That ended fast account migration for discounts. But VP card pins from regional distributors still work on any account — Riot checks the payer's region (the distributor), not the redeemer's.
